Students rewarded for Telethon efforts

We are grateful for all that you have done to restore the connection with our alumni."
More than 30 students were treated to a special lunch at Harper Adams this week, to thank them for their work on the University College’s first telethon.
The students, who have all previously received scholarships through the Harper Adams Development Trust, contacted more than 750 alumni over 11 days, to update them on current developments at the University College and raise awareness of the Trust’s fund-raising efforts.
The Development Trust exists to enhance the student experience by raising funds to improve and add to the University College’s facilities and for a range of financial scholarships.
Addressing the assembled students, Harper Adams Principal Dr David Llewellyn, said: “You have all done a tremendous job getting the Telethon off to a flying start. We are grateful for all that you have done to restore the connection with our alumni. Thanks also go to Development Trust Consultant Renee Gallina-Morris, Alumni Officer Julie Brook and the trustees for all their hard work.”
Development Trust Chairman Anthony Burgess presented a bouquet of flowers to trustee Ros Barsley, for her outstanding contributing to the Telethon.
Afterwards, Mrs Gallina-Morris said: “The students were wonderful. They were all volunteers who wanted to give something back and they seemed to really enjoy it. In return, they have had offers of guest speakers and work experience, and all have received a letter commending them for their efforts, which will be an asset to their CVs.”
The Telethon was supported by the Students' Union and Harper Club Committee.
